Writing articles for your business blog is not always the easiest thing to do and for some it can be quite a challenge. For me, the key element that I must bring to the table with this activity is PASSION. Just like anything else, if there is a level of passion there, achieving the tasks is a bit easier. With that said, you must then find a subject to write about where you have some passion.
While reading this article by Jeff Bullas, he pointed me to some very useful information about blogging and how to motivate and prepare oneself for the task. He turned me on to an inspiring Zen Habits blog and an article titled “9 simple ways you can bring yourself into flow” which provided some great strategies on how to get into creative flow for writing. A short list of the 9 ways are below in simple format:
- Pick a enjoyable, challenging activity – this means passion
- Eliminate distraction
- Think before you do
- Isolate yourself
So, once we get our head right and have established a creative blog writing environment, what are some tips on keeping that blog post pipeline full of ideas and your company’s blog pumping out great content that will change your business. Here are a sample of some of the tips provided:
- Develop a series of how to blog posts
- Write articles for different types of customers
- Include a great iconic image at the start of the blog that catches the eye.
- Be yourself even if it is a company blog.. be authentic.
