Here is an older article from Inc. Magazine that reviews research that shows successful entrepreneurs and CEOs don’t share all of the same traits. It highlights that CEOs excelled at creating definitive goals and diligently found ways to accomplish them, while entrepreneurs were outstanding improvisers who dynamically assessed available resources and personal strengths to develop and achieve goals, as well as react to events on the fly.
As an entrenpreneur, I could definitely relate to some of the findings discussed in the article. I also could use some of the traits exhibited by CEOs as a business owner. Developing a healthy mix of traits from both categories is what I ultimately would like to acheive.
Read the findings for yourself and honestly assess where you stand. Like me, you will likely find a few surprises, as well as some dead-on assessments.
