As you are aware, the recycle bin can save a bunch of heartache should you accidentally delete files that you intended to keep or thought you had copied. There are times when you delete a large number of files, but don’t really want to fill up your drive with additional copies in the recycle bin. There are a couple of ways you can bypass the recycle bin and directly delete these files. One way is to change the property settings for the Recycle Bin. The other is done on a one-time basis by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key when you press the DEL key (or use the Delete command). You will likely receive the following confirmation request message: “Are you sure you want to delete <filename>” at which time you confirm.
